Removing Old Wax from Candle Jars
Let me teach you candle wax removal, the cheap and easy way. We all have candles in jars around the house. Some of us spend a small fortune for the higher end candles. The jars and containers are so pretty, and most of them have tightly sealing lids. What can you do with them instead of tossing in the trash when they are used up? Clean the jars of old wax and reuse the jar. This is cool to do with children, with supervision. Looks like a lava lamp.
Boil some water in the microwave or on the stove. Then simply pour the water into your candle.
The boiling water slowly melts the wax and it will float to the top.
After the wax has floated to the top, let it cool and harden. Larger jars with more wax will take a few times to melt all the wax. Just keep repeating the process.
To remove the wax, cut it in half with a knife and it easily came right out.
Now just wash your jar. Here is the jar when done.
