Sleep Success

I consider last night a sleep success for myself, because I fell asleep “normally” last night.  Actually, it was this morning, at 3am (my son, Geoffrey and I were binge watching Hawaii Five-O)  I got myself all cozy in bed and turned on a sleep meditation for busy minds and stress.  Problems with falling asleep is an issue I have always had, but now it’s mostly caused by my CPTSD.

I must have fallen asleep immediately, because I don’t remember anything until my alarm went off at 7.  I slept for a whole four hours, I am THRILLED.  One thing I did do differently was NOT turn our Himalayan Salt Lamp on.

You may be thinking, “How can you call four hours of sleep, a good night?”.  All my life I have suffered from sleep issues.  Constant fatigue, has always been present.  My parents used to say that I was “born tired and never rested”.  Naps are a necessity for me.  If I don’t take a nap during the day, then I get overtired and that exasperates the problem.


As an abuse survivor, night terrors are a constant part of my life.  They can wake me up 2-3 times a night, then add in the trouble of falling asleep.  This is why a full four hours is a happy occasion for me.   It doesn’t happen often.
