My Morning Routine
A morning routine is very important to me, because of my anxiety and depression, it gives me control over something. It also gives me something to look forward to, instead of staying in bed all day. My depression has been that bad, so I try really hard to push myself in the morning.
I am Christian, so before I even get out of bed, I do my daily Bible study. If you have others beliefs, or none at all, use the first five minutes for any kind of quiet time.
I then freshen my face and hair and get dressed. This is something I do struggle with, it’s so easy to skip. My brain tells me “Why bother? You hardly leave the house!!!” Taking care of ourselves is one of the hardest things we face on a daily basis, but it does do wonders to help our mood.
Coffee and breakfast come next. You need to fuel the body. It doesn’t have to be a Continental breakfast, but have something.
Last thing I do is get some fresh air and sunshine. Spring through the Fall, I like to finish my coffee on the porch before I start my chores.
